A couple days after Christmas, Leona would be flying from Denver, Colorado to her new home in Bend, Oregon. Cheryl was in tears the night she delivered Leona at the airport. “I do this every time I have to send my sweet foster babies away,” she said. “I fall in love with each and every one of them.” But Leona’s new family confirmed later, by phone, that Leona had arrived safely, and Cheryl felt relieved. Later, she decided to call Leona’s new family to find out how she was doing.
