A couple of days ago, I accepted a 7 day declaration to list 3 things (daily) that Im thankful/grateful for AND to also nominate 2 others each day to also list 3 things that theyre thankful for and to likewise nominate 2 of their friends to do the challenge. Today, I nominate, Linda Sorrell and Kevin Robinson. DAY 1... 1. It had been raining, thundering and lightening since about 4-4:30 this morning. SUDDENLY there was this tremendous BOOM and I remember thinking, that was different than the other thunder claps. I turned over and went back to sleep. I was JOLTED awake about 30 minutes later by LOUD BANGING on the door. I opened the door to several FIREMEN telling me that the building was on fire and that we had to evacuate immediately. My brother, his wife, me and Snowball (the dog) and several of the neighbors stood in the now light drizzle watching the firemen do their job. It turn out the lightening struck the building and the fire was traveling just under the roof through the crawl space. ALL PRAISE AND GLORY TO ALMIGHTY GOD that no life was lost and the fire was contained with the help of the buildings firewall. Damage by water & smoke seemed to be contained to 3 apartments. NO FIRE DETECTORS WENT OFF, but because a neighbor apparently SAW the lightening strike, called 911 immediately. GRATEFUL & THANKFUL that... 1. GOD does NOT slumber NOR does HE sleep!!! 2. Mercy & Grace!!! 3.The Lord is truly MY SHEP-herd. GLORY-HALLELUJAH!!!
