A couple of days ago, Uncle Earl Nottingham came for an over night visit. As posted earlier, we had a great time with super paleontologist and geologist, Christopher Flis, from the White Museum in Seymor. Soon after Earls arrival, he told me to hide my eyes as he had a surprise. I figured it was a joke and went along with it. But to my delight, Earls intent was for real and I was honored with this wonderful old antique from perhaps a century past. It is a cigar holder/ash dispenser that Earl had purchased some years ago but not used much. He figures it came out of an old hotel where people used to sit and enjoy a stogie and cocktail before bedtime. WOW!!! Like Earl said, wish we could hear the stories that were told by the old ones who sat and pondered life and those events way before our time! Thank you Earl!!!! Lets continue the legacy by telling our own stories as we sit beside this relic, burning our own stogies and partaking of the spirits!!
