A couple of days ago, a friend of mine took me out to a poets event where we got to watch and listen to the regions top poets as they mingled and played around with words. At the entrance of the hall, we noticed these words printed in bold; PAY BEFORE YOU ENTER. My friend paid and we joined the hundreds seated in already. What followed was fun! Mad wordy fun! We listened, watched, clapped, cheered, ullulated, whistled, danced, shouted...We enjoyed ourselves. However, the writings at the entrance stuck in my mind. PAY BEFORE YOU ENTER. We were having fun coz we had paid. If we hadnt, we would have been barred from going in. In life too, if you want to enjoy, you have to pay first. To enjoy hapiness and success, you must work hard, and working hard is like paying in advance. Look at any sports star, influential musician or any person you consider successful, great and happy. To get to where they are, it took them months of practise, years of hard work and days of toil. Before you ever heard of them, they were busy paying the price to become rich/famous/great/influential by working hard. Yes before they got into the hall of fame, they had to pay. At the entrance they paid with devotion, sacrifices and toil in order to get the happiness/success they are enjoying right now. Hey you, pay first through hard work and you will enter the doors to your happiness... Nothing good comes easily...am just thinking
