A couple of years ago I performed at Kingfisher Voice of Goa, and decided to offer my own prize, totally independent of Kingfisher, for best original composition. The undisputed winner [of my prize, not of VOG!] was a young woman from Vasco de Gama: SHALISHA. I thought her song Just walk away, which she belted out while strumming authoritatively on acoustic guitar, was of international caliber. She rocked. My prize was to produce the song in my studio by arranging, performing [instruments and backing vocals], recording, mixing and mastering it. I was very excited with the result. And now Shalisha has gone and produced a super cool music video. Heres to more and more Goan youth coming up with high quality originality. And may they have the grit and guts to go out there and get things done for themselves. Like Shalisha has.
