A dad walks in this morning with a bottle of room temperature tap water. Dad: I need to give this to my son. (As hes reaching across my desk to shove it into my hands.) Me: (leaning away from him) Yes sir. Just grab one of those orange slips and write his name and grade, then tape it to the bottle. (Pointing to the tape which is conveniently provided for parents to use.) He writes it out & tapes it on. Me: it will be waiting for him in the cafeteria at lunch time. Dad: Oh, no...you can just deliver it to him now. (REALLY?! I CAN????) Me: Im sorry sir, we dont interrupt classes to deliver water bottles, but Ill be happy to have it waiting for him in the cafeteria. (Sigh)
