A day after taking 17th Asian Games gold and silver in both the mens and womens triathlons, Japan took gold in Fridays mixed team event. Yuka Sato, Hirokatsu Tayama, Ai Ueda and Yuichi Hosoda each completed a super sprint triathlon course (400 meter swim, 10 kilometer cycle and 2.5 kilometer run) won in a combined time of 1 hour, 17 minutes, 28 seconds. South Korea took the silver medal in 1:18:39, while China was third in 1:19:16. Great Spirit by Hong Kong-China, Kuwait, Kazakhstan, Macao, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, Thailand and Uzbekistan.
