A dear and well-meaning FB thread posted this: Some scholars believe that Job was a relative of Abraham, which would have made Job a descendant of Shem, the son of Noah. In Jobs story, we have the account of the sons of God presenting themselves before the Lord, in heaven, and Satan being among them. We know the flood of Noah was caused by the sons of God having relations with the daughters of men and producing a race of giants. Its possible the sons of God mentioned in Job is before these watcher angels fell. Their assignment was to watch and help mankind, and report their findings to the Lord, which is what we seem to find happening in the book of Job in chapters one and two. In Genesis 6, we see that these sons of God (angels) had fallen and had relations with the daughters of men, corrupting the gene pool. Does anybody else besides me have problems with this kind of spiritual exegesis [sic]? I did ask who some scholars were but received no reply.
