A dear saint of God left this world yesterday and was transported - TopicsExpress

A dear saint of God left this world yesterday and was transported to heaven to be with her Lord. She was a wonderful wife, mother and mentor to so many. It is difficult to be a pastors wife, but in this she excelled. She knew how to correct me too in such a kind and gentle way. She remained true to God all the years I have been blessed to know her. She along with her husband gave me permission many years ago to marry their first child. I was blessed to be married to that woman for 23 years. For those years I had an up close and personal look at Mrs Jean Ostten in a variety of settings. She was always the same. Very transparent, and Jesus could be seen in her life always. I know she was not perfect as no child of God is, but I know of no other who was a better example of a godly wife, mother and mentor to many young women and pastors too, if they would be willing to acknowledge it. She rebuked me one time when I really needed it in such a kind and gentle way that she probably want even aware how it humbled my pride when I needed it most. I will miss this dear lady, but I know she has gone to where she longed to be. She is with Jesus now, along with her first child. They are enjoying Jesus together and will be part of the welcoming party when some of the rest of us get there. I think the older I get the less attached I become to this world. It is because more and more of our treasures are up there and not here. I think this is Gods way of preparing us for our home coming too. Death is not really the enemy of a Christ follower, because Jesus has taken the sting of death away. Mrs. Jean Ostten is at rest from her labors now, and is enjoying eternal undistracted worship in the presence of King Jesus. My strongest emotion should not be sorrow though that is there for all of us as a normal part of grief. I should however, be just a little bit jealous that she is where the rest of us who know Christ long to abide. You will be missed, mother, sister, and mentor, Dan McKenney
