A delegation from the port authorities in the city of Qingdao in China visited Eimskip in Iceland and got acquainted with the operation. Qingdao port is the seventh largest container terminal in the world and plays a major role in Eimskips reefer forwarding service. Eimskip signed a joint venture contract last summer with the port authorities in Qingdao regarding operation of a 50,000 ton cold storage. The goal is to strengthen further more the reefer logistics through the port in Qingdao and connect it to Eimskips service all over the world.
