A fab day was had by all on Sunday for Team Smith-Carson’s Great North Run. It was hilarious from the start to the end of the day. Good efforts all round- Richard completed in 1 hour 44, Royce 1 hour 48 and Aunty Sue and I did it in 2 hours 18. Thanks to everyone for all your support, advice, good luck and well done messages. My father’s advice of “Don’t get boxed in, come with a late run!” was a particular highlight! We are overwhelmed with the amount of sponsorship we have raised; we estimate that when all monies are collected we have around £4000 for Macmillan! Woohoo! So a huge thanks to all! Our sponsorship page will be open for another couple of weeks too for any last minute contributions too!;) There’s been blisters, shin splints, cold baths, training after nights in the Bongo (not advised!) petrified chavs, Richard’s nearly been in a hedge (sorry!) and poor Aunty Sue has been subjected to my AMAZING taste in music, (gangster rap featuring frequently) It’s all been worth it and I think we have certainly done Mum proud!! xxx
