A fact that deserves the attention of all active European citizens and citizen organisations: since the late 90s, three NGOs of cancer survivors, support- and advocacy groups (The Cyprus Anticancer Society, PASYCAF, Europa Donna Cyprus) are working actively AGAINST the building of new radiotherapy infrastructure at the largest public hospital of Cyprus (Nicosia General Hospital) and the establishment of a comprehensive anticancer center in this hospital. A small detail: these three NGOs are also serving as advocates of the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center that was, until recently, under the administrative and executive control of a few powerful bankers, but received, since 1998, more than 250Mio € ...public funding!
