A fair reflection on the popular practice of short-term medical missions (aka voluntourism). I believe many of the authors observations and points may also be extended to any form of short-term mission to a developing country, or perhaps to many of the under-resourced communities in the US. I found it to be one of the most thought provoking articles I have seen shared on Facebook in some time. So, if you are an American thinking about venturing off to another country to help this could be worth a read first.
