A fans comment about Mahela Jayawardena on Cricinfo I had the privilege of flying with Mahela from Colombo to Chennai. It was immediately after the World Cup final. He had taken a break and was coming back to Chennai for the IPL inauguration. He was absolutely down to earth, polite and very friendly. He patiently signed autographs and posed for photos while waiting for the baggage to arrive. When I told him that my son would be thrilled if I told him I had travelled with Mahela, he immediatley suggested that I can call up my son so that he can talk to him. That was Mahela Jayawardane. Stylish on the field and a gentleman off it. I guess one other cricketer like him is Sachin. Real champions! HD
