A few days ago I was notified by Animal Rescue Volunteers about a lost dog who had escaped a fatal Motor Vehicle Accident Hwy 6 MP 27. The small dog ran from the accident scene deep into the wilderness while her owners were lifeflighted to Emanual hospital. They survived the horrific car accident but sadly another driver did not. Ms. Brenda Sours Tillamook Co. Animal rescue informed me that her and her friend Vickie Zimmer had been involved along with the victims family in searching for Daisy and had found nothing. On 07-31-2014 at 0415hrs. I started driving towards the scene to see if we could bring closure to this poor familys case. When I arrived at the scene at 0715hrs. I met with the grandmother Sheryll Roy from Newberg, Ore. She happened to have a blanket that had Daisys scent on it so I brought out my two search dogs WIllow and Tyler and introduced them to Daisys scent. It took both of them 15 seconds in front of Mrs. Roy and her family who was there, to show me where Daisy was over a steep embankment near the Wilson river. I then put up one of my search dogs and had my other one, (Tyler) climb down the embankment with me along with Mrs. Roys grandson. 3 minutes into the search I saw where my search dog Tyler was alerting so I asked the grandson to call for the dog. He said, Daisy come here in a calm easy voice. Then I heard him say loudly OH MY GOD THERE SHE IS. I looked to his left in the thick brush and there was little daisy scared and trembling. Daisy came up to him and he grabbed a hold of her and gave her kisses and hugs. (A very heart warming scene). We then climbed to the top of the embankment where I told Mrs. Roy we had recovered Daisy alive. She immediately started hugging Daisy and crying. At that time Ch# 2 tv reporter crew showed up at the scene so we did a brief interview. Im so thankful for my two four legged heros who today made a big difference in these peoples life bringing closure in a good way to such a horrible event and saving little daisys life.
