A few days ago, in memory of Nirbhaya who was raped and tortured two weeks before her death on December 29, 2012, I shared a video related to how females are treated in India. If you think things have improved since then, think again. The Hindustan Times has published the results of a recent survey of women in Delhi, and the results are more than a little startling. . Just in Delhi alone, the number of rapes reported have increased by 498 from the 1571 reported in 2013 to 2069 reported in 2014. While this is good news in the sense that more of these crimes are being reported, the results validate the feelings of women not only Delhi but in the echoes of womens feelings throughout India. .
