A few days ago, my boy came in from the pasture with a pretty deep scrape in the inside of his right hind leg. For the first day it was fine, we just cleaned in out and left it open with antibiotic ointment on to keep flies out. Yesterday we came in and it was blown up like a balloon. So we walked him to get the swelling down and then cleaned it and did a spider wrap over night. We just went again about an hour ago and it was still blown up, but way worse. Not only his hock was (where the cut is) but his fetlock was blown up as well. We walked him again and the swelling on his hock went down completely, but his fetlock remained really swollen. I can get pictures tomorrow, but I was just wondering if someone had something similar happen with their horse. And also any suggestions to heal. He is also on Smzs for 5 days to help.
