A few more......I dont have any great tips....trial and error......the close ups are taken with a Pentax 100mm macro lens - I dont have a reversing ring - yet - but its on my Christmas list :).......I have a single pane glass window over the sink in my kitchen. It is in a corner of the house and I take the screen off for winter and the wind swirls the flakes up and sticks them to the glass. I get in all kinds of yoga positions on my counter top and shoot them through the window (neighbors think Im nuts as Im out washing the window every time the temp gets above freezing)......I have a large tree about 20 yards from the window and I try to frame everything so the tree trunk is in the background as Ive found that a dark background makes the contrast better when I black and white them......everything is handheld and shot on aperture priority with as much depth of field as I can get and still hand hold.....I have a rudimentary knowledge of lightroom and crop and black and white them there.......the biggest thing is that they have to be laying almost perfectly flat against the window to get any kind of clarity....I have shot thousands and thousands of blurry snowflakes....
