A few observations... 1. Several pictures have gone viral of whites dressing up as Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman and even more recently two white girls posted pictures of them dressing up as Niggers for Halloween. The fact of the matter is that this is America. No matter how stupid, insensitive and blatantly disrespectful those folks may be... They still have just as much right to be stupid, ignorant and disrespectful as anybody else. 2. One cannot expect ignorant people such as the ones spoken above to renounce their ignorance and become upstanding citizens who respect the ethnicity of all people until they learn to respect their own culture. I truly believe that racism is simply an outgrowth of an internal turmoil. 3. Whether we realize it or not, many of us are unconsciously perpetuating racist stereotypical behavior. We do so by labeling things we perceive to be associated by racial behavior. For instance, black food, black churches, black neighborhoods, or speaking white, white church, white jobs, etc. Perhaps you dont harbor negative feelings but you may associate behaviors with race. And if you do... You are part of the problem. 4. If you are not obligated to speak out against racial injustice because you are white, black or Hispanic. You are obligated to speak out against it because you are human and if you are Christian... Because you are a Christian.
