A few of us FPALR volunteers went to CACC today and rescued 4 deserving dogs, although we wish we could have taken more. As we were checking out, there was a very nice man at the desk to get his 2 dogs that ran out of the house and were picked up by animal control. He did have them microchipped, thankfully, and it was obvious he cared for them deeply. When CACC told him what it was going to cost him to get his dogs back, tears were in his eyes. He only had enough money for 1 of them and stuck in a position where he was going to have to choose which one to take home and which to leave there. What a horrible feeling that had to be! While we were standing there listening and watching, one of FPALRs volunteers couldnt bear to see how this mans heart was wrenching over this, so with her GIANT heart of gold, she paid the fee for the mans other dog so he wouldnt have to make that choice.. Just one more reason that FPALR has the greatest volunteer team!!
