A few of you have asked me recently whatever happened to my daughter in law Judy Niicole Jones (Monroe, LA/Wossman). She was twice named WAC Player of the Week and once Mid Major Player of the Week last December. During a four game stretch just prior to Christmas she drilled North Texas Eagles for 20/8 boards, UCLA Bruins, 22/11 boards, Mississippi State Bulldogs 18/11 boards and Nevada Wolfpack 14/12 boards she unfortunately tore her ACL in a collision on December 28th against Long Island. Judy has recovered fully after undergoing surgery from the Phoenix Coyotes (NHL) doctor, having completed her 4 month rehab in June under the guidance of my friend Chuck Howard. After earning All American and finalist for Academic All American Honors (she graduated early in December with a 3.98 GPA) she experienced this latest obstacle. Ive no doubt shell overcome it, as Ive never seen anyone quite so determined. All these accolades were achieved while also being a wife, a mother and a Christian woman. Shes well on her way to obtaining her masters degree in special education while serving as a grad assistant with the Grand Canyon basketball team this coming season. Shes concurrently prepping for her overseas basketball career that God willing will begin next spring. There are chapters left to be written! Louisiana Lightning will strike twice. youtu.be/O_4h6nZFVps
