A few of you know, when I see injustices, I, first, try to see from both sides, what the situation is, and assess from gleaning.. So, I came across a few articles on Plum Creek out between Gainesville and Hawthorne, and If you dont know of this prospective project, you MIGHT want to do a little reading up on it. The very corridor that leads into Gainesville, (past Kates Fish Camp), is being threatened by HUGE developers and the Charm that brought many of us here, is continually being taken away from us. (Then Student Ghetto and all the 2nd ave apartments are JUST the beginning)....This is a note I got from Lori Hill Wiggins , of Melrose. And I quote................................................................................................................ When we invite them to our meetings they turn us down and plan one of their own. When we had our Town Hall Meeting in Hawthorne each side was allowed to spend 15 min to present. They made Mike Byerly stop and allowed Rose Flagler of Plum Creek to talk for almost 45 min. This is a nightmare for those of us living here. They will not engage us! Now this is coming down to the County Commissioners. They will make the decision and only Mike Byerly is against the plan. Most supporters dont even know they plan to build 10,500 homes. They have threatened to sell the land in 5 acre lots and put down wells and septic tanks if they dont get their way. They are trying to strong arm the commissioners! We are asking people to vote for Harvey Ward and Ken Cornell as they do not like what Plum Creek is doing. Plum Creek has caused a bitter divide in the community now. Most of the people living in the area didnt know Plum Creeks plan. They are greedy land developers. What they are doing in Moosehead Lake is disgusting! They continue to fight the communities who dont want these areas developed. This is greed at its worst and now they are taking over the whole area out here where we live quietly. The people are outraged because there seems to be support on the Environmental side.... For those of you who havent heard of this proposal, heres an article about THE SAME developers doing the same thing in Moosehead in Maine... Please show your support, or at least, inform yourself of this situation... pressherald/2012/05/16/easement-pact-links-2-million-conserved-acres-_2012-05-16/
