A few things about Long Island and weather. 1. We have a chance of snow from October through end of April. We we are now in the season it could snow.( here come the groans) 2. Try and Listen to the forecast. There are a lot of places you can get your weather from, but people forecast for different areas. NYC stations cover Northern NJ, Connecticut and the Hudson Valley so in the winter they usually have a better chance of snow. know your weather source, people post tons of wrong information on the internet. 3. Snow totals can change over time. As a rule I usually dont post snow totals until 24-36 hour time frame. 4. Getting all stressed about a storm 5 to 10 days out will give you stress and drive you crazy - the more in the future the storm the more things can change. 5. Weather is not a perfect science we try to be correct every time, but we will have times we are wrong. Remember I live here with you on LI and it impacts and drives me nuts just as much as you. So i have we can have a good winter season without many issues.
