A few thoughts on the election campaigns for the Councilor At Large position. I believe I have run my campaign in a positive and professional manner. I have talked only about my qualifications, experience and proven dedication to this town based on my 36 years of serving and protecting its residents. I have not tried to denigrate my opponent. My opponent has on numerous occasions questioned my integrity and character, I will not respond in kind. He has also continually tried to paint this race as tied to other Council races. In reading some of his ads and watching his candidates message on WCAT I was not sure which race he was in, the Councilor At Large or Council President race. It is true he and I back different candidates, I have been very open and honest as to who I am behind. However that has no bearing on this position, I have worked as a Councilor under both of the candidates for the Council President position and have agreed and disagreed with both on various issues and votes and I stand by my record. If my opponent feels he must tie his campaign to that of another position and cannot run a strong independent campaign based on qualifications that is his choice, it is not a choice I need to make.
