A few thoughts on the new Star Wars trailer now I have watched more than 10 times. 1. I love the Siths lightsaber, the hilt guard surely hints at some gritty close quarters combat. 2. That sith may be Jacen Solo if anything from the Expanded Universe is used. 3. The whole scene with the Falcon was amazing. A really visceral scene. I wonder if Han/Chewi are in command. I have heard that in the years since ROTJ, Han lost the ship gambling so we could see a sub plo of tracking it down and getting it back. 4. If you look closely the Falcons deflector shield antenna lost by Lando whilst flying through 2nd Death Star in ROTJ is still missing. That shows Abrams and the writers have paid real attention to detail for continuity purposes. 5. The X-wings lake hopping in formation looks incredible. 6. I think John Boyega (the Storm Trooper) from the first shot might be Zare Leonis who we meet in Star Wars Rebels with heavy hints he may become an inside man for the Rebels. This would mean a faction of the Empire stayed in tact after the battle of Yavin. 7. The fact the Empire is still around probably means the Emperor reincarnated himself as he does in the Expanded Universe and the power to do so is hinted at in the prequel trilogy. All this boils down to AWESOME!
