A few weeks ago, my sons school lost in a competition with some other schools . He came home and told me his school was cheated and unfairly denied the trophy by the officiating persons. My son wasnt at the competition but that was what he was told and he believed. It suddenly occurred to me that our children must be rescued from this pervasive mentality that every lost contest must be a result of some bias or compromise by an umpire. They must be taught that in every contest, a winner must emerge and the winner must not necessarily be you. Your responsibility is to prepare hard, pray hard and abide by the rules. Whatever happens after, praise God and move ahead!
