A few weeks ago our fundraising for the World’s Greatest Shave finished up. We’re absolutely over the moon as we went past our target and our final total raised is $25,821.96! This made us second in Victoria and top 20 for teams nationally. Whilst we were still aiming higher and will continue to do so, it has been a very humbling and eye opening experience for all involved. Reflecting as a team over the hectic few months that we had to fundraise and organise events, we are very proud of our achievement and also very humbled and overwhelmed by the amount of support shown by people, the community and the amount of sponsorship we received from various businesses, companies, organisations, radio stations, local MP Sharon Knight and the local council (the council eventually came around haha). Whilst there was the core team throughout, there was an absolute multitude of people who helped us out at various stages along the way, and for that we are incredibly grateful, and there are honestly way too many people to mention on here, you all know who you are. Whether it was making a donation, helping to organise, volunteering time to help out at a fundraiser, helping to spread the word or generally supporting our cause, thank you all. This year The World’s Greatest Shave raised a record $20,215,741 for the Leukaemia Foundation and everyone who donated and were involved should feel proud of being a part of that happening. This was a very personal cause for the team in memory of Ben our brother and mate, and for the future of the community in battling leukaemia. We are Benny’s Mob and bring on 2014!
