A few years ago, my amazing son Jacob was diagnosed with Fragile X and macrocephaly, along with ADHD, intermittent Explosive Disorder and Oppositional Defiant Disorder. For those who dont know what that means....it means a lifestyle change, unexplained moments of rage, frustration, high anxiety and energy, delays with development, friendships and lots of patience. I often question the things I have done and do, whether I am doing the best job as a parent, but I wouldnt trade a minute of having my son or the sacrifices made for my little man! This month is Autism Awareness....please take a moment to learn about something different - autism, bipolar disorder, MS, etc. Each person is unique, even if they have no diagnosis!
