A flag cannot be the Lebanese national flag if it does not comply with ARTICLE # 5. Any other is NOT a Lebanese flag: proclaiming it so to be, is simply wrong, and to a certain extent a grand treason. As Independence Day fast approaches, and, lest we forgot, did not know, or, it’s somebody else’s mistake: a kind reminder to the directors of the protocol of the offices of all Lebanese public sectors and institutions, be it in Lebanon or Oversees. This reminder is extended to all Lebanese political parties, as they would not want their own flag be misrepresented, its proportions shifted, or, a color or two added to their flag. Lebanese Constitution CHAPTER 1: ARTICLE 5. The Lebanese flag shall be composed of three horizontal stripes, a white stripe between two red ones. The width of the white stripe shall be equal to that of both red stripes. In the center of and occupying one-third of the white stripe is a green cedar tree with its top touching the upper red strip and its base touching the lower red stripe.
