A former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd.), has warned that the conduct of the 2015 general elections will determine the unity of the country. He said the determination of the North to reclaim power in 2015 and the desire of President Goodluck Jonathan to seek for another term portends danger for the nation. Abu King Shulluwa an elder statesman in Benue State noted and i quote, Nigeria will break up if Jonathan contest 2015 elections. In a submission by the Afenifere, the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, at a press briefing in Lagos recently, they noted that going by the utterances of political leaders in the build up to the 2015 polls, Nigeria is preparing for war not elections.
