A friend at church posted this and I had to share. Couldnt have said this any better. Thanks for sharing Faye Martin Crews! So very true! This is such a good perspective on the Church. Its truth resonates within multi-generational groups. I appreciated so much reading these sentiments and reflecting on my conversation this past week with a 90 year old saint and member of our church. I realized how much, even though we are a generation apart , her wisdom and faith and commitment has been an encouragement to me, and I want this generation to be able to look at my generation and be able to glean wisdom and encouragement. I want my faithfulness to my church to be a witness of my faithfulness to God, and be an example to all generations. The elders and older women are to be teachers and mentors to the younger people. We are to carry the torch, and pass the torch, but we are never to be cast aside and ignored or deemed insignificant. It is not about Me, and it is not about You!! My ways and your ways are not His ways. He does not have to conform to my selfish wants or desires but He says we must decrease and He must increase!!! Worship both private and public is to exalt God, not ourselves, or to promote our own interest, talents, or personal preferences. There is nothing wrong with the church, but there is plenty wrong with me ....and you...and.our problems could be solved by obeying two little commandments: love The Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.
