A friend called me last night to tell me of Bongani Masukus Death. For those who dont him, he was the back up singer to South African legend Johnny Clegg. Bongani had been with Johnny since 92. I got to meet Bongani last year in Livingstone where Him & Johnny had a private concert at Sun Hotel. He was a very humble man & seemed so youthful & full of life even @ age 50. Unfortunately on Saturday Night he was shot Dead buy Gunmen trying to steal his car & cellphone. Now let that sink in for a minute..a man who lived 50 years of his life peacefully gets killed violently over nothing. It has to make you wonder if Africa is taking Gun control serious! In the last 12 months we have had Westgate Mall in Kenya being attacked by Gunmen. That hurt me a lot because I had just been there a week before the attack. Then we have the famous Oscar Case of a man who shoots his girlfriend because he intended to shoot an intruder who was never there to begin with. Over 223 girls are Kidnapped by Gunmen in Nigeria & now we have a son of Africa killed on his own soil by his own people. We often show up at the Aftermath where we try to find out why but why not stop the source! Whos providing these mad men with these Arsenals? Im tired of showing up after the mess they have done & look for clues as to why, when we should be looking at who. Guns Down I have said and ill say it again and again. I know some will take it personal because they have guns to protect their homes and Family from intruders. But of all the situations Ive mentioned only one happen in a home & the worse part is the intruder never even existed! Its in the Malls, streets and Schools we now have to fear. Whos gona protect our kids there? #GunsDown
