A friend of mine changed my drivers side front brake a month ago and the noise it had been making stopped. I watched him change it so I could do the other side. I had not gotten around to it. But on Sunday, the noise started back. I did the brake job all by myself except for 1 part. I just could not squeeze that caliper back in. I tried for over 15 mins and I dont have the strength in my left arm to do it. My friend came by and he got it in and then I finished up. Im pretty damn proud of myself for doing it by myself. My friend told me I had black on my face. I thought it was just a little bit. So when I finished, got the tire back on, I boxed the old brakes up to take back to the auto parts store. I had bought the lifetime guaranteed ones before and when I got these last month, the guy told me to bring the old ones back and they would give me my money back. So, I did. Too bad I didnt get my friend to snap a picture of me... Now, picture this. Here is a 200 lb woman. Wearing black and grey striped knee socks(I had worn them to work under my jeans), cut off blue jean shorts that are too big, and a green t-shirt with paint all over it. My painting shirt. I had worn a headband to work and just pulled my hair into a ponytail to work on the brakes. I was also wearing my falling apart tennis shoes that I wear to cut grass. Such a pretty sight. So I go to AutoZone to take back the brakes and then to Quick Trip to get some ice. I get back home and look in the mirror and my friend was right. I had black smut all over my face. EVERYWHERE. I just busted out laughing at myself. I dont have a picture of the outfit, but when I saw my face, I did use the phone and took a few pictures. Ill share them so you can laugh too. Now I know why people were staring at me.
