A friend of mine told me that she had referrred a friend of hers to me but the friend declined. According to the friend, since I use tax software and he can acquire and use tax software, there is no benefit to paying me to do his taxes. Using tax software doesnt equalize a taxpayer with a tax professional. Software isnt my brain. Software is my tool. Just as a hammer in my hands wont allow me to build a house because Im not a carpenter, neither will tax software give an untrained person the knowledge, experience and skill that a tax professional has. To think otherwise is what TurboTax WANTS you to think. Hire an EA. Software doesnt make us what we are. Education does.
