A friend of mine who lives in Minnesota texted me this morning, - TopicsExpress

A friend of mine who lives in Minnesota texted me this morning, angry as hell. Why? It appears that the states largest insurance provider on the state exchange set up by Obamacare, has called it quits saying the program is unsustainable. This insurance company was covering nearly 60% of the people in the state who signed up through the exchange, mainly because their premiums were dramatically lower than the other companies. That is the sole reason my friend signed on with them, and he lost his doctor in the process. But he learned a few days ago that the company is getting out completely, and all policies are null and void as of the end of this year. He checked with the other companies through the exchange, and found that the next lowest premium was still going to be THREE TIMES what he was paying, and much higher than what he paid under his former employer-provided insurance. He said that this bombshell will cost Al Franken the election in November. I dont follow politics up there, so I dont know. But if my friends anger is reflective of the other 60% who are being dropped, it isnt going to be pretty. As he summed it up in his text: I have lost my original insurer and doctor, and I am now losing my second insurer and possibly my second doctor, and my premium will be tripling over what it had been three years ago. Any other Minnesotans out there experiencing this?
