A friend of mine wrote me a congratulations on your anniversary message on LINKEDIN. Im thinking, anniversary? Not realizing that April 12th marked my 11th year working for the Tribune Broadcasting Company. As I reflected I realized that I have been in this business for 18 years now. I have graced the walls of NBC, ABC, FOX, UPN, CBS and the CW Everything that you can think of doing in this industry I have had the pleasure of doing. Reporting, Anchoring, Hosting, Creative, Producing, Engineering, Directing, Promotions, Hard news, entertainment news, print news, managing and being a Fixer! With that I have been able to educate interns, mentor, bless and provide opportunities to those who so badly wanted that chance to prove themselves. My message to you is to never forget to enjoy the fruits of your labor and never forget who supported you on your way up because they will be the same ones to support you on your way down. Thanks to my big sister Pavunae Jones who had the biggest hand in my career...she fought and vouched for me to get my first gig in TV... @ lisatrenelltomkies who mentored and taught me how to run friday night football during a sportscast like a pro.. and Tyrone F. Davis who shot and directed my first on air reporting reel (tornadoes and politics) and a slew of others that helped me on this journey. Im so serious. #blueprintguru
