A friend posted an anonymous description of me and how our relationship has unfolded. I was very moved by his perceptions. All I have to say is: WHO YOU CALLING CRAZY!!!! :-) And, thank you, I love you. Here it is, and I think I might start doing this for my friends too: What more do I have to say to, for, and about you that I havent already? Youre a teacher par excellence and I consider you among my foremost spiritual influences. You know how to build a person up and break it down for them. How to meet a person where they are. The cynic in me thought you were some kind of crazy person when we met, and its true, you are. But that same cynic wasnt ready to see the crazy in himself, so he decided to project it outward onto you, I guess. And then we kept running into each other. In a coffee shop where you told me about cleanses and fasts, or in your house in the tiny kitchen after all the others had left and you, with your inimitable sandpaper-throated patience, pointed me to what an ego was, despite my dashing around to avoid it. In a certain way, I wasnt ready, but my remembrance of those times tells me our timing was perfect. When I stopped answering your messages, only to flood your inbox a couple of years later during my second manic episode, you responded with bemusement and patience. And as things have come together in the last year or two, even with that last hospitalization thrown in there, one lesson has stuck out to me, and its of a practical nature and a spiritual tenor, and it is this: if you are receiving revelation with the notion that is is to be kept and held and hidden and special, that is mania. On the other hand, if in that receiving, you are the vessel, the carrier of the light and in that carrying the witness to the light of others, that is a message from God. The thing is, everybodys getting it; we just have to be patient, and laugh, and maybe get over our selves. Nothing but love, brother.
