A friend remarked recently on the diminishing face of traditional broadsheet newspapers suggesting that the kind of long term, intensive investigative journalisim and reporting of the past (think Watergate etc.) will diminish with the demise of newsprint... for I dont see a blogger commiting that kind of time with so limited a return. Today I shall point him to Serial - on which Ive been bingeing this afternoon. (thanks for the reminder Japheth) serialpodcast.org/ - this kind of quality content, story telling and format is one new path the river of new media is creating ... the stories are out there... I am convinced that we humans will keep finding new ways of telling them... and I celebrate that. That an audio story like this has become so hugely popular theguardian/technology/2014/nov/18/serial-podcast-itunes-apple-downloads-streams - the biggest podcast ever... probably owes a lot to the mystery and its currently unfinished nature... but its well done, and completely compelling... you should check it out.
