A friend writes; Dear Dr. Brown, I believe that Christians are to - TopicsExpress

A friend writes; Dear Dr. Brown, I believe that Christians are to love one another just like Jesus taught. But I have some people I thought were my friends who have cut me out of their lives and treat me as if I dont exist. What should I do? I truly love them still but they wont have anything to do with me. Can you help me? I answered: Dear friend, many times in this life people you think are your friends will forget they ever told you that they love you and will drop you as if you are nothing. Expect this. This is the real ugly world we live in. People will hurt you and feel justified in doing so. What can you do? I treat them with unilateral love and forgiveness. If I love someone, I love them. They may hurt me but I still love them. So, I pray for them and forgive them even when they dont want my forgiveness or treat me like a stranger. My friend, try this. Forgive people even when they dont want or expect it. Love people even when they have treated you like trash. Remember this; you are never more like Jesus than when you are forgiving and loving enemies, or friends who have forsaken you. The last thing we should ever do is fall into the category of only loving those who seem to love us. I hope I have helped you. By His grace, Bro. Bill
