A friend yesterday, asked me if reading the Greek or Hebrew texts that underlie the KJB was a better way to understand what God was saying to him. I said, Well, if God loves you, and wants you to know Him, and really wants to KNOW you (Matt. 7:21-23), then wouldnt He speak plainly, honestly, by His Spirit to you in your own language? The language you have most understanding in? I went on, God knows that we are sheep with just a few appointed over us, as He intended, therefore, with this being true, He gave a finished and perfect word that has stood for 400+ years for us—personally—to read. Are we not admonished to read His word daily, even many times a day if possible? My friend said, Yes! Then, I went on (cause most of the time you cant shut me up about this subject), Why would God require us to study two, at the minimum, languages that would run well over 8 years, when in that same time we could read and study the KJB all the way through, on average, about 10+ times? He said, That makes sense, but if I found just 10 golden nuggets in the Greek, for instance, wouldnt that outweigh the 10 times through the KJB? I said, That depends on your walk in Christ. A minor few are called to be scribes or scholars, etc. (which Jesus said He would provide the word in our own language—to give us a finished word, the KJB, Matt. 23:34), are you wanting to be one, just a jack of all biblical languages? He said, I see what you mean. I responded, Read and study, search and compare, repeat, and all in your KJB, the Devil will hate you for it, thats a sure thing. To you all, I know God called me to read and study His word that I might be approved not unto man, but unto Him. And He calls all of us to read and study because we love Him, not that we want to impress others.....:) 2 Tim. 2:15, Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
