A full 75% of the casualties are civilians. Thats a lot of collateral damage. One thing is for sure, this time around the Israelis are beginning to lose their long time rather historically uncritical supporters in the American Media. Even the usual he said/she said reporters feel their stomachs turning over the shellacking of Gaza. I am not going to be self righteous and speak as a Jew as that would be misleading as I am an atheist who skipped my own Bar Mitzvah. But I sure can say that the blind tribal loyalty to the Israeli state (right or wrong) among my peers helped turn me off from Judaism and religion in general as a teenager (I was 16 in 1967). I know I made the right decision as religion, in fact, poisons everything. In its worst incarnation it does devolve into primitive tribalism.
