A fun way to end the year dyeing yarn with my grand daughter resulted in ten skeins of handspun apricot BFL. We soaked the skeins in warm water in the sink with Eucuran no rinse wash in Lavender scent. The giant pot of water started a slow boil then we added white vinegar and the W. Cushing perfection direct dye powder in the color apricot (Chloes pick). The water was gently squeezed from the soaked skeins and added to the dye pot. Chloe stirred the skeins to distribute the color evenly. She is barely tall enough to see into the pot. The apricot color took to the skeins immediately exactly what you want to happen. The dye water was clear and Chloe was amazed to see what I said was going to happen really did happen.
