A good friend asked me why I am post stuff on police brutality. This is my response. Why do you ask this question? Do tell. But to answer your question, I think police brutality and the kiilng of people of colour is as bad as the gestapo that rounded up jews, but we say nothing. As with many atrocities, people saying I never knew has been an excuse that allows it to continue. Those of us who are privileged, meaning not directly affected by these heinous acts can afford to be uncomfortable when for others it is life and death. I post because it has to stop, each of us has be take responsibility for silently condoning it or for making our voices of protest heard. At the moment, i am in safe space, but as soon as i return to the USA i could be shot for nothing, or for being black. That is a reality, and it even more sad is that those who are charged to protect, serve, and up keep the law are the psychopaths and executioners. So my bro, this is why I post this stuff. Now do tell, why did you ask that question. And to everyone who find this uncomfortable or disturbing, i want to say that your being uncomfortable and me being uncomfortable with you being uncomfortable is not as uncomfortable as being shot. So if this awareness can make the different in one persons life it is worth it. But we can also choose in face of some much evidence to believe the systematic hunting and killing of people of colour is not fact or have one of the classic response of my white friends: A. He had it coming B: It happens to whites too. C: it is not that bad. or D ___ (insert meditate, pray or kumbaya or another spiritual response. Take a good look if we cant see that something is very wrong when the keepers of law cant be trusted, then there is something wrong with us. Lets take for our position, but let not say we didnt know. Something is very wrong in our society. I will continue to post on these matters because in good conscience I can not remain silent. You can de friend me, skip these postings or go my more feel good posts. Genocide and concentration camps (prisons) is alive in well in the USA. Where do we stand as we support wars for democracy, human rights and freedom in distant land. To the question of how good people could stand by and say or do nothing about all the atrocities of history and recent times, we now have the answer
