A good meeting tonight in St Josephs RC. Comprehensive & 6th Form - TopicsExpress

A good meeting tonight in St Josephs RC. Comprehensive & 6th Form Centre with regards to supporting the continuation of this fine school. A great turnout with the new hall completely packed! Standing room only. :D I have to say a huge well done to everyone who presented, from the 6th form students up to Mr Gwynne who spoke brilliantly & to Mr Schofield who informed us succinctly on exactly where we currently stand. It was also great to bump into Mr Sullivan my old English teacher along with Geraldine Wiltshire who was in school with Arthur & myself. Many thanks to TC Jones for giving Stephen Kinnocks apologies as well as confirming his support for keeping the 6th form college in with a new school & also David Rees, Peter Black, Bethan Maeve Jenkins & the conservative representative who attended who in turn voiced their full support in keeping the 6th form college for the future. Here is to the next move & the gathering support behind it! May the NPT LEA see the sense in our opposing views to their one sided idea on tertiary education (which isnt down on paper yet, it is only a verbal one???) & may the Bishop of Menevia along with our very own Monsignor Joe decide to back the school in its hour of need instead of fighting to close it alongside NPT LEA! Right is on our side. In the words of Martin Luther King... We know through painful experience that freedom (of choice?) is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed. Frankly I have never yet engaged in a direct action movement that was well timed, according to the timetable of those who have not suffered unduly from the disease of segregation. For years now I have heard the word Wait! It rings in the ear of every Negro (read native) with a piercing familiarity. This wait has almost always meant never. We must come to see with the distinguished jurist of yesterday that justice too long delayed is justice denied. (Read more: Martin Luther King Speeches | Infoplease infoplease/spot/mlkspeeches.html#ixzz3JeIQIkP2) We want freedom to choose a future in Port Talbot for our children & our childrens children. Dont let us be dictated to by those who do not live here, let us decide our own future & make it happen the way we want it!
