A good-news update from US National Weather Service New York NY: Last week we told you about Richard Hendrickson, who at age 101 is the longest-serving NWS Cooperative Weather Observer ever (84 years)! Yesterday, Mr. Hendrickson became the first-ever recipient of a new award named in his honor — for 80 years of service as a Cooperative Observer — presented during a ceremony at the NWS New York, N.Y., Weather Forecast Office on Long Island.
