A good queen cares for her people. She works for them, plans for them, thinks about them day in and day out. It is only fitting, then, that our very own Kumu Esther, the assistant director of PHA, is respectfully known as Queen Esther in our Ohana! Thank you, Esther, for working so diligently for PHA and for caring for every single person who spends their day at our school! And a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you today!! We adore you! Kumu Esther finds serving the students and families of Pacific Heritage Academy an immensely rewarding experience. She has invested much time and energy in the creation and success of PHA, working directly with the founders since before the school opened. Having grown up in the beautiful countryside of South West England and being a passionate explorer, she loves being part of a school that celebrates diversity and finds value in heritage and culture. Esther holds a degree in History and Sociology, a level II teaching license, a K-12 school administrator’s license, and graduated with a Masters’ Degree in Educational Leadership. Pursuing her love of education over the past 16 years, she has been actively involved in private schools, homeschool cooperatives and charter schools, both as an administrator and a very effective teacher of children Kindergarten through High school. Outside of school, Esther volunteers time with a non-profit organization as a human rights advocate; serving as an advisory board member, a public speaker, and a developer of programs for victims of abuse. Esther is also the mother of 4 wonderful children, two of which attend PHA. In her spare time, she enjoys playing the cello, hiking and camping, canning fruit from her orchard, and hanging out with her African Pygmy Hedgehog.
