A good roller-coaster cycle-ride this afternoon in the hills above Roeburndale above the Lune Valley near Lancaster. About 45 miles and over 2000ft of climbing , with four stiff climbs - 2 of 20% and 2 of 15%. I missed one heavy shower and then got the tail end of it so got home damp. The first picture is of Winder Farm at nearly 1000ft ad overlooking Ingleborough. I know the farmer Richard well. The second is near there on the steep descent , only to have to ascend a 20% rise (3rd picture) to the fourth picture where I stopped for a rest and a biscuit . That picture is of Ingleborough and the fifth picture shows the Three Peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Penyghent which are 2300-2400 ft high. The fourth picture is of the overfull and overflowing River Lune. I dropped into Wray and found no scarecrows :) and then took the easy route home down the old railway line , canal towpath and then lanes back to Garstang, progressivly getting wetter An excellent ride.
