A great deal of R&D has gone into perfecting the raincovers that can be fitted to the child-carrying bikes and trikes that I make. The tent is supported by 4 aluminium poles that are quickly slotted together and inserted into two brackets at the front of the cargo box. The raincover is clipped on to the poles and tensioned to the cargo box sides. There are many advantage to this design; - The curved tensioned front of the cover creates a more streamline shape and improves front visibility for the rider. -Unlike the Wild west waggon style raincovers fitted to generic Chinese cargo trikes which suffer from sagging of the cover; the tensioned fabric on my covers keeps the raincover taut. This is key to maintain the childrens head height inside and prevent flapping material in windy conditions - The cover and poles fold down to a compact size which fit inside the cargo box - By releasing one or both of the raincover sides, the tension in the raintent lifts the rear of the cover up to allow the kids to easily climb aboard unobstructed. - The standard design is open at the rear to make it easier for the rider to keep an eye on the passengers, communicate with them and prevent condensation build up. Removable end panels can be provided which are attached with velcro for use in extreme weather conditions. The raintent is made from heavy weight waterproof nylon, heavy gauge pvc window material and the seams are reinforced with 20mm polypropylene webbing. As each trike is built to the customers specific dimensions that they require, so the raincovers can be made to your specific needs.
