A group of police officers and their friends are continuing their remembrance ride from Sydney to Canberra as part of a campaign to raise awareness and funds for NSW Police Legacy. Day Two of the annual NSW Police Legacy Remembrance Bicycle Ride sees the group of 65 riders cycle into Goulburn today (Saturday 12 April 2014). The group have already ridden half of the 300km journey from Sydney to Canberra, and have been encouraged by the level of support and donations received from the public. Brisbane Water Local Area Commander, Superintendent Daniel Sullivan, who is participating in the ride, said the group have been overwhelmed by the support from the community. “We are all tired and sore but safe and well and making good progress in our journey. “Even though our legs are sore, we are buoyed by the magnificent support we have received along the way. “To know that we have already raised more than $58,000 for such a great cause gives us that little bit more energy and the impetus to continue. “The community support has been fantastic so whether it is a friendly wave to us on the road or digging deep to make a donation, it all counts,” Supt Sullivan said. Donations in support of the ride can be made on the Everyday Hero page: https://give.everydayhero/au/nsw-police-legacy-bicycle-ride-2014/members
