A grouping of civic society organisations in the agricultural sector, CISANET, is planning to work with parliamentarians to lobby for the enactment of laws on land and food security. The networks Programmes Manager, Alfred Kambwiri, expressed hope that the arrangement could help promote food diversification and bar politicians from politicizing issues to do with food. He added that one of the bills intends to prosecute those who deny others access to food. Kambwiri said CISANET expects the parliamentarians to support the National Disaster Risk Management policy which is a guiding principal in helping the country handling issues of disaster.
